Not all rich people are snobby... but sadly most are
To become a wealthy individual, there comes hard work. To be rich you have to earn it and i know many people don't understand that, especially children that were born into rich families. I know many kids who beg their dads and moms for porsche convertible or mercedes for their birthday, or throw huge parties that cost thousands of dollars. A lot of the times they get what they want. Everything they get is handed to them when most kids have to work hard for a reward. These spoiled children end up turning into stingy and selfish, well, brats. They think they are better than everyone else and they could buy their way out of many situations. But i do know that there are people who are completely well grounded despite their bulging bank account. I know there are people out there that are extremely wealthy, but you would never know. This is because they understand that money isn't everything. They grew up learning the lesson that through hard-work comes money, but also you can't buy happiness with money. These people didn't let paper take control of their lives. So i would have to say that, No, not all rich people are stingy and selfish, many are but there are some who are well grounded and perfectly satisfied.

heyy JOR,
i definitely agree with your torn opinion on how the stereotype of rich people are snobby, but how some are grounded and have good values. i feel like sometimes it is hard for the rich to come out of the mindset that they can get just about whatever they want. this is a narrow way of thinking, yet some do manage to break out of it, and contribute their wealth towards benefitting the ones who need it most.

aw J,
this is a great post. Because your family doesn't do so badly in the money department of things :) and it shows your understanding that money is worthless (well, unarguably unimportant) compared to the other values in the world, including love, relationships and work ethic. I agree 100% that it is unfair that some people are born into a life already facilitated for them, as they naturally inherit wealth, while others struggle to afford a comfortable living. It is a shame that rich people are sometimes snobby and selfish. However, I don't think there is a direct correlation between money & snoody. Some rich people are generous and genuine. Those are the kind I like :) like you.
i believe that there are both good and bad rich people in the world. the bad are the ones that are born into it and take everything for granted. the good rich people help the less fortunate. for example, i was reading people the other week and there was one man who helped out a mother and her two children who have been living in a car for a month. he was also so sincere about it which makes him a good person. i believe that if the rich society tries hard enough, they can help the rest of the world. unfortunately, this doesn't happen in most cases.
hey J,
I believe that with a lot of money comes a lot of authority and power. I feel that a lot of wealthy people, unfortunately, show their feelings of superiority in a snobby way. I think that kids born into wealthy families grow up expecting everything to be handed to them, while as you mentioned, other kids have always had to work for rewards. I believe that people who work for things appreciate them more, because they understand what was endured to get that reward; where as kids born into wealth can't understand that feeling.
Jor Jor i somewhat agree with you. I mean I know there are a lot of people who were born into rich familes and are snobby, but i's say there is just as much if not more people who are wealthy and not snobby. I know there are a good amount of people like this but I feel like I see more wealthy people that are good people, than wealthy people who are stingy. I think you may believe there is more greedy rich people because of the media doesn't really show the down to earth rich people.
hey hoogs! I agree with everything that you say. I believe that those who work harder for a living know the value of a dollar more than those who throw it away on stupid things. I do think that some people who are rich are not as selfish and snobby as everyone thinks. Take some celebrities for example, they do have a lot of money, but with that money they donate to charities and help others who are less fortunate then they are. Unfortunately, those who are selfish and spoiled don't think of anyone but themselves, which makes them think they can get anything they want by using the money that they have.
Love you HOOGSS!<3 Good Job!
JJ
i completly agree with you 100% on everything that you blogged about. You couldn't be more on key with what you said. Like you i agree that no, not all rich people are snobs; however there are handfuls who take their money for granted, have things handed to them, and become these greedy brats. I feel that is partially the parents fault because they are the ones who do the initiating. Instead of teaching their children the understand of money, they just hand them however much they ask for right when they ask for it. These types of kids never hear the word no. But there are those few families who, like you said, teach their children the morals of money. So like you said, "no not all rich people are stingy and selfish, many are but there are some who are well rounded and perfectly satisfied".
